Curiosity tree mural - in stages

Another post from me. I have had loads of emails with questions since putting up the mural on the blog. So here is the mural in the different stages. You can see the difference between the first and last picture. This mural took me in total 27 hours due to all the detailing. I have used simple emulsions from B&Q which the lady wanted. It's great if you want to use a lot of colour to get loads of little testingpots, which I did. They range from £1 to £3 in places like Homebase and B&Q. Any more questions, feel free to type me a comment. Have a nice day.xoxoxo

PTW/A Spoon Full of Sugar 37

Awful weather today, so what better than having an afternoon in making cards. I had a couple of hours spare this morning so I made a card for some challenges. This one I have made for PTW this week, the challenge was "hearts and flowers". (ie I have used a Tilda with a heart and flowery papers)I am also entering this card in this weeks challenge by A Spoon Full of Sugar. They have a lovely sketch there, and as I am a sketch fanatic I had to join in. The sketch is made by Tina46 whom is a guest designer at the moment over at a Spoonfull. She is very talented and the card she made for this weeks is gorgeous.

For this challenge I have used a Tilda. Coloured with promarkers, highlighted with sakura white and glitter gel pen. I have also used a heart stamp that I have had for ages. Think it might be Hero Arts, not sure, sorry...(gosh, I am terrible)I have used Anita ribbons, Papermania spring burst papers, wordtile (free from a magazine jonks ago), white paperstock from Aberdeen papermill and purple pearl stick ons from stash. There, phew...Really loving lime and purples at the moment. Going into the Papercrafts studio this weekend for some stockup. Need some new papers and last time I went they had loads of adorable papers and some new cute stamps. Have a good day.

Curiosity tree mural

Here is what I have been up to the last couple of weekends. I have just finished this afternoon, so I am very pleased. I have painted two 14 foot murals in two separate stairways in an old converted grainstore near Keith up here in Moray. The lady that hired me for the job is opening a coffee shop and a small retail unit for handcrafted items and organic produce in early april. The building is soo gorgeous on the inside. I was hired to do two "tree of life" murals, but we are calling them curiosity trees, since the lady is going to put small hooks from the branches and hang bits and bobs on them. What a good idea! It was loads of fun doing these murals, even though it was no heating in the stairways. It was hard to do two aswell since I had to do all of it by hand, I am seeing circles right now...lol....hope you guys like it.

Cute card thursday - 45

Another post from me this evening. This is a card I have made for Cute card thursday this week. The challenge is to make a Valentines card. I have used the gooorgeous Bo Bunny papers and some green, white and brown cardstock from the papermill in Aberdeen. THe hearts I handcut and layered and put green eyelets on with white ribbon, all from stash. I used my sewing machine to add some stitching around the card to make it more shabby chic. Lots of love...

Daring cardmakers/ Sketch saturday

Evening. Hope you all have had a great weekend. I have been busy doing round 2 of my mural paintings for the Old Mill between Drummuir and Keith up here in Moray. I am now finished so I will put some pix up later.

Here is my entry for Sketch saturday this week. A lovely sketch again. I have also incorporated this sketch for Daring cardmakers. K&Co, Bo Bunny and Papermania. The image I used is a sitting Tilda that I coloured in with promarkers. Highlighted with Sakura pen. Gem from poundstretcher in Yorkshire, ribbon from Anita's, mini flower from prima and flowerbrad from Asda. I found it really hard to use 3 different papers especially from three different lines. But hopefully this will qualify for this weeks challenge. Have a week and thanks for looking.
